Spotify converted legacy acts like Metallica, Pink Floyd and Red Hot Chili Peppers to the streaming side. Meanwhile, newer big guns including Beyoncé, Coldplay, Adele and Björk have waited months after releasing their albums before unleashing them on Spotify, obviously to spur album sales — a strategy Taylor Swift also used for Red in 2012
