
The company that manages the the Eiffel Tower closed it to the public on Friday amid a walkout by workers protesting the prevalence of pickpockets at the world-famous landmark.
"The Eiffel Tower is currently closed due to the exercise of the right to withdraw of its staff," reads a message on the landmark's Facebook page. "Thank you for your understanding."
The site is normally open to visit the top from 9:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. local time. Read more...
