
NEW YORK — Ross Ulbricht, the man known for running the underground marketplace for drugs Silk Road, was sentenced on Friday to life in prison in a New York federal court.
The sentencing comes three months after a jury found Ulbricht, 31, guilty of creating the online black market used primarily for buying and selling drugs anonymously
The judge who handed down the sentence, Katherine Forrest, cited "significant public interest" in handing down the maximum sentence
"I don't know that you feel a lot of remorse... I don't think you know that you hurt a lot of people," said Forrest. Read more...
